Situated at the foot of the mountains, Oliena a town of charming beauty gave safe shelter to it's forefathers. People who protected and saved a priceless treasure of culture and natural scenery for it's future generations. Positioned throughout the town are churches from various era's. There are numerous religious and social festivals where the streets and squares are filled with locals young and old, dressed in their colourful traditional costumes lovingly made of silk and gold threads. The people of Oliena are renowned for their hospitality, their exquisite local dishes and pastries and their world famous wine "Nepente" (Wine of the God's"). Located conveniently to the B&B are the well known springs of "Su Gologone" the Lanaitto valley with it's caves "Oche", "Su Bentu" and the cave of the famous local bandit "Corbeddu" (Sardinia's equivalent to Robin Hood). Tours of the Nuraghe village of "Tiscali", "Sa Sedda e Sos Carros" are a must. The B&B is situated at 40 Via Nuoro, in the middle of the town, a hundred metres from the ancient St. Mary's Church (constructed during the domination of the Pisa Republic 700). Family run, the recently constructed house has stunning panoramic views of the imposing Corrasi Mountain to the south and Mount Ortobene to the north. A warm welcome awaits you in this comfortably furnished establishment. Breakfast is served in the dining room or garden. At the disposal of the guest is a kitchen, television room and library containing a vast array of books on Sardinian history and culture. Private parking with an indipendent entrance. With a large garden available domestic animals are also welcome.
